How to measure for compression socks: Sit the person down with their foot flat on the floor and their knee at a 90 degree angle. This contracts the calf so we get it at its biggest measurement. In this position, the person can measure themselves accurately or be measured by someone else. You want to measure the ankle circumference at the smallest point (above the ankle joint, not around the maleoli - just the skinniest part of the bottom of the leg). You then want the calf circumference at the widest part. Shin length is measured from the pit of the knee down to the floor. Height of the person in cm. Shoe size in UK sizing. You want the tape measure to hug the skin but not be digging in. If you have any difficulties or are unsure, give us a call on 0207 326 0900.

The original product although of excellent quality did not quite fit. i contacted Customer Services who were most helpful in replacing the socks immediately with a different type which were perfect.
Light weight socks
These socks are lighter than the other socks I have bought and more suitable for the summer. I have given them 4 stars instead of 5 as I have to pull them up every now and again.

I am writing to let you know how much difference your compression socks have made to me. I have varicose excema caused by leaking veins, since wearing your socks my excema has disappeared. I would like to add that by wearing them when playing golf and general day activities they have reduce the tiredness I used to feel in my legs. I would definitely recommend your product to anyone who has circulation problems.

I ordered these socks for the same reasons as Leslie Crew of Kent - problems with varicose veins affecting circulation. I am advised by my doctor that the NHS is disinclined to deal with this condition surgically these days. Therefore good socks that stimulate the circulation will be in demand. Superb
The Essential socks are a superb fit, easily as good as the best socks that VR have to offer. They offer the same level of performance and have made a significant difference to how tired my legs feel at the end of the day. They are the perfect sock for daily wearing.
My only comment is that I have noticed my feet perspire more wearing these socks that when wearing the Ultra Comfort or the Oxfords, this is why I have marked them 4 and not 5 stars.
I will be buying more of these but will only wear them when I visit cooler climates.
